What we are up to this month

The nursery is always busy.

Many of our huge wholesale orders go out at this time of year. Here are some of the 1,000 Pennisetum ‘Hameln’ that are heading for Italy for one of Luciano Giubbilei’s jobs.

We are also sorting out Piet Oudolf’s plants that have come back from his highly acclaimed installation at the Serpentine in London. Some will be divided now, others in Spring and the remainder will be potted up into 5 or 10 litres.

On the retail side, potting on of our new stock gathers pace and all the roses are now in their allocated areas.

We have sown all our sweet peas (have you sown yours!)

and moved all the tender stuff inside so they are nice and cosy this winter.

The reservoir is nearly full. It holds about 3,500 litres and will be used for irrigating our plants in the spring and summer.
