This variety is a flat red onion from the area around Savona in the North of Italy. The red skin in translucent, making the onion look almost pink. It has a mild and sweet flavour so is very tasty when eaten raw in salads, but can also be cooked.
- Growing Instructions:
Sow indoors - July to September for larger onions and plant out in February to April
Sow outside March to May when the air temperature is above 5°C
Sow 2cm deep in rows 15cm apart as thinly as possible.
